The approval was announced on Wednesday through a statement by the state's Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan, the state capital. According to the statement, the new salary scale was recommended by a Technical Committee set up by the state government and has now received approval from Governor Makinde.
Oyelade explained that the new wage scale will be implemented once the committee, which includes both government and labor officials, finalizes the necessary adjustments.
He also highlighted that just last month, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recognized Oyo State as the most worker-friendly in Southern Nigeria, noting a significant reduction in unemployment rates, thanks to the state's vigorous employment drive across various sectors..jpeg)
